Southern Upland Way - stretching from Portpatrick in the west to the east coast at Cocksburnspath, the Southern Upland Way is Scotland's longest walk. The Plantings Inn is a popular stop-off point for those walking the Southern Upland Way as the walk passes close to the Inn.

Gardens - Whether interest lies in the plants, or in garden design or even just walking amidst beautiful and tranquil surroundings, the gardens in this area contain all that could be desired.
